The Strat Las Vegas to Introduce Paid Parking: What You Need to Know

March 31, 2023 – The Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod in Las Vegas is making changes to its parking arrangements by introducing a new paid parking program. According to recent news, the popular tourist destination will be starting a paid parking initiative, marking a significant shift in the resort’s parking management strategy.
Owned by Golden Entertainment, The Strat will launch the STRATVANTAGE Paid Premium Parking program, designed to offer guests quick and easy access to parking spaces. Although most resorts on the Las Vegas Strip have implemented paid parking in recent years, many locals and visitors are curious as to how this move will impact The Strat’s overall visitor experience.
Paid Parking Coming to The Strat
Golden Entertainment has mentioned that parking on the first and second levels of the garage will remain free as part of the new parking scheme, while the upper levels, with more convenient access to the hotel and casino, will require payment.

At this time, there is no 1st hour-free parking like the majority of Las Vegas casinos offer. There is also no 3-hour complimentary parking available for local Nevada residents. These features may be added in the future as The Strat navigates and adjusts its new parking fees.
No fees have been announced at this time, but it appears that one fee will be charged for parking Monday – Thursday, with higher fees expected Friday – Sunday. Additional details are expected to be released as the program rolls out. These changes reflect the evolving landscape of parking management at Las Vegas resorts and casinos.
The Strat’s Parking Announcement

My Take on Paid Parking at The Strat
While free parking at The Strat has long been the norm, I believe the writing is on the wall, so to speak. As most other casinos along the Las Vegas Strip began charging for parking in recent years, The Strat parking remained complimentary due to its location on the far north end of the Strip.
As the property wasn’t near many other resort casinos or Vegas attractions of consequence, The Strat had no choice but to continue to offer free parking or face losing visitors.
That, however, is changing. With the opening of Resorts World in 2021 and Fontainebleau Resort & Casino set to open near the end of 2023, the north end of the Strip is beginning to fill in somewhat and is giving The Strat some leverage to charge for parking.
In addition, while not especially close, I believe that the MSG Sphere opening later this year also affects The Strat’s parking decisions. An influx of visitors to the new venue will increase the demand for parking throughout the Strip.
As with most paid parking initiatives in Las Vegas, I believe the “STRATVANTAGE Parking” is just the start of implementing paid parking for all visitors to The Strat. The free parking on the 1st and 2nd levels may not last long.
Only time will tell.
